I have done quite a bit of dredging with a 3 inch in the past also. ive never run into floating gold, but have run into flour gold. the stuff that is so fine you cannot pick it up or even see it but it is there. it is definitely worth recovering. but,,,,,you will have to use mercury to extract it.
